The Annie Merner Pfeiffer Library, opened in 1953, is WVWC’s central academic hub. Named for philanthropist Annie Merner Pfeiffer, it got a wrap-around addition in 1973 and a major renovation in 2019. With flexible study rooms, a new rear entrance, and enhanced services, it blends classic architecture with modern student needs.

The Virginia Thomas Law Center for the Performing Arts (“Law Center PAC”), opened in 2009, anchors performing arts at WVWC in Buckhannon, WV. Named after Virginia Thomas Law, via a major gift from John M. Law, it includes Culpepper Auditorium (374 seats), the Greek Alumni Room (48-75), and serves theatre, music, dance & community events.
The Lynch-Raine Administration Building stands at 59 College Avenue as the central nerve-center for West Virginia Wesleyan College’s leadership and student services. Originally dubbed “New College Building” post-1905 fire, renamed in 1953 for board presidents Charles W. Lynch & John Raine, it now houses the Provost, Registrar, Student Accounts, Admissions & more.
Christopher Hall of Science, completed in 1968, replaced aging Haymond Hall to offer modern labs, lecture halls, a greenhouse, and advanced science instruction. Named in memory of H. Ward Christopher (deceased 1962), it also features Hyma Auditorium, the George B. Rossbach Herbarium, and a planetarium that serves both students and the public.
